This special art exhibit runs for a month, with the art opening and artist reception on Friday, March 16 5-9pm in conjunction with the Towles Court Art Walk.
Judy Lyon is an expressive artist and high school art teacher who loves all forms of art; from Batik to Printmaking to Touch Drawing to Surrealistic Paintings, to Realism and portraits! Judy loves it all and shows that art is liberating and “brings her home to her true self”.
Art opening and exhibit begin March 8 and run through April 6. The reception will be held on Friday, March 16
Judy Lyon is a high school art teacher and practicing artist who uses many kinds of artistic processes from printmaking to mandalas. She learned the art of batik in collage during the mid 70’s, and that is one of her most accomplished methods.
Judy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art and Psychology, with an emphasis in Art Therapy in 1977, from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. She attended the University of South Florida in Sarasota to obtain her MA degree in Guidance Counseling in 1997, and she earned a Certificate in Art and Healing in 2008 from Ringling College of Art and Design.
Judy Lyon is a current member of FAEA (Fl. Art Educators Association) and SAEA (Sarasota Art Educators Association). She is a frequent participant in Expressive Arts Florida Institute workshops and trainings. Judy has presented Expressive Arts Trainings and Retreats throughout Florida and Michigan.
